Pico do Vulcão, rising up to an altitude of 2829m from the caldera floor (which stands at an altitude of 1700m).

Hiking up to the Pico takes hours, but one can come down in a matter of minutes...

  
The caldera floor (9km diameter) is covered in basalt.

Can you see a dyke over there, in the caldera wall? It's a beautiful one!
